Chef Gladys Abulu is a multi-award-winning culinary expert, renowned for her innovation and excellence in baking and culinary education across West Africa. She is the visionary founder and chief instructor at White Dish Culinary Academy, where she has trained hundreds of aspiring chefs, bakers, and food entrepreneurs.

Her outstanding talent was recognized on a continental stage when she emerged Winner of the Bread Production Category at the 3rd West African Food Festival (WAFFEST) in Lagos, Nigeria — producing an impressive 32 varieties of bread in under eight hours. She went on to secure 1st place in Bread Production at the 4th WAFFEST held in Togo, cementing her position as one of the region’s finest bakers.

In 2024, Chef Abulu showcased her artistry once again, earning 3rd place in Cake Decorating at the African Gastronomy Competition, organized by NIHOTOUR (National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism).

Her leadership in culinary education and entrepreneurship has earned her numerous accolades, including an Honourary Degree from the Chartered Institute of Hospitality, Tourism and Management of America. She has also received several awards from respected institutions for her significant contributions to mass education in non-formal sectors.

Beyond the kitchen, Chef Abulu is a strong advocate for investment in small, micro, and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria. She passionately champions the empowerment of youths and women through practical culinary training that leads to real economic opportunity.
